Privacy at MultiView
MultiView is designed to work without an account. Your walls, channels, and preferences stay in your browser. Some features still need to contact MultiView or the services whose content you choose to view; this page explains when that happens.

01 · Scope
What this policy covers
This policy covers the MultiView website at multiview.no and the optional MultiView Drop Helper browser extension. It covers information handled when you create walls, follow channels, use widgets, search for videos, submit feedback, or send a link from the extension.
MultiView does not require registration, and it does not operate a remote user profile containing your saved walls or followed channels.
02 · Browser storage
What stays on your device
MultiView uses your browser's local storage to remember the experience you create. This can include:
- Walls, stream and video URLs, and layout choices
- YouTube, Twitch, and Kick channel shortcuts
- Video playback progress and mute preferences
- Widget, location, news source, and esports preferences
- Encrypted Private Notes vault data (never the master passphrase)
- Theme, accent color, sidebar, and onboarding settings
- The active wall and other interface state
This information remains in that browser until you change it or clear it. Private Notes titles and contents are encrypted before storage. Exported backups are created on your device and are only stored wherever you choose to save them; a backup contains the encrypted vault, not its master passphrase.
03 · Service requests
When information leaves your browser
Features you ask MultiView to load
Search terms, channel or video identifiers, discovery filters, selected news sources, esports choices, and weather locations or rounded coordinates may be sent to MultiView's server. The server forwards the relevant request to the provider and may cache the result temporarily to improve speed and conserve API quota. These requests are used to return the feature you selected, not to build a viewing history.
Hosting and technical logs
Like most websites, MultiView's hosting provider receives technical request information such as IP address, user agent, requested path, timestamp, and error details. This information is used to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the service. MultiView is hosted by Vercel; see the Vercel Privacy Notice.
Feedback you choose to send
The feedback form sends your category, message, current MultiView page, screen size, browser user agent, and submission time. Feedback is passed to GitHub for handling. Do not include passwords, API keys, or other sensitive information in your message. See the GitHub Privacy Statement.

05 · Embedded services
Players and content come from third parties
When you add or open third-party content, your browser connects to that provider to load its player, media, chat, images, or other content. The provider may receive your IP address, device and browser information, the content requested, and any cookies or account state you already have with that service. Its own privacy terms apply to that interaction.
MultiView supports or retrieves information from services including YouTube and Google, Twitch, Kick, Spotify, X, Vercel, GitHub, MET Norway, Open-Meteo, PandaScore, and configured news sources. The exact services contacted depend on the content and widgets you choose to use.
YouTube API Services
MultiView uses YouTube API Services for video search, channel information, feeds, live status, and discovery. By using these YouTube features, you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google explains its handling of information in the Google Privacy Policy. MultiView does not request access to your YouTube account. If you have granted Google account access to another application, you can review or revoke it in Google security settings.
06 · Browser extension
How the Drop Helper handles links
The optional extension adds a right-click action for sending a link to a MultiView tab. When you invoke that action, it reads the selected link, finds an open MultiView tab, and passes the link to that tab. It does not maintain or send a copy of your general browsing history to MultiView.
Browser permissions such as context menus, tabs, active tab, and scripting are used only to provide that user-requested workflow. After the link reaches MultiView, it is handled in the same way as a link you paste into the website.
07 · Your choices
Accessing, moving, and deleting data
Move your setup
Settings → Data lets you export either a complete local backup or only the encrypted Private Notes vault and import it into another browser. MultiView does not receive either file.
Remove your setup
Reset walls or delete only the Private Notes vault from Settings → Data, remove individual channels and preferences, or clear multiview.no's site data in your browser to erase all locally stored MultiView data.
Because MultiView has no user accounts, there is no server-side account profile to delete. To ask about feedback you submitted or another privacy matter, use the feedback button beside Settings and include enough detail to identify your request.
08 · Retention and changes
How long information is kept
Local data remains until you remove it. API and content responses may be cached for a limited time based on the feature. Anonymous analytics and infrastructure logs are retained under Vercel's applicable service policies. Feedback is kept for as long as reasonably needed to review, act on, and maintain a record of the request.
This policy may change when MultiView adds features or service providers. The date at the top will be updated when that happens. MultiView is not intended for children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
